Today I turn 25, and as I sit here drinking a greens and BCAA concoction, thinking back about 3 to 4 years ago at this same time when I was drinking a red bull vodka concoction, I would like to believe I’ve learned a thing or two about health, “fitness”, and what the strength and conditioning community has taught me professionally and personally.

As a coach, I am fortunate to come into contact with several types of people utilizing movement as their method of filtration. Whether it is guiding an athlete to gain weight for another successful in-season, or a client aiming to lose weight for an upcoming wedding, there are many avenues and paths that can be chosen.
The Push-Up: Part 1 – Are You Doing These Common Push-Up Errors?
From when I was young, push-ups were attractive to me for a few reasons:
- They are easy to understand – hands on the floor, and push away from the the floor. Done.
- It offered quick results – do one more push-up than your previous best attempt, and you were stronger, and had more endurance. Doing rep upon rep of push-ups will definitely boost a young man’s confidence.
- It is easy to show off as a young’n – after learning the basics, I began to experiment and play around with the push-up and found out I was pretty decent at them!
However, despite all these awesome reasons why the push-up was the bomb growing up, it is still butchered to this day.
